Century CI Release Destinations

Century Correctional Institution is operated by the Florida Department of Corrections. Its people are serving state sentences, not an Escambia County jail stay. A person can leave the Century compound for another FDC institution, Century Work Camp, Pensacola Community Release Center, a medical placement, or court transport without ending FDC custody. Those movements are transfers.

A final prison release may lead to the community, FDC supervision, FCOR parole or conditional release, or another justice agency. The state release record answers when prison custody ended. The supervised-population record answers whether FDC legal control continued. A detainer, which is another agency's request to hold or receive someone, can also cause a handoff rather than a community return.

Confirm Century CI Releases

FDC calls its public set of databases the Corrections Offender Network. The Inmate Release Information Search is the best released-first route because FDC says it contains people already released or scheduled for release and updates nightly. The ordinary Inmate Population record is useful while someone remains confined, but it should not be presented as final proof of discharge.

1. Open the official FDC Inmate Release Information Search.
2. Enter the six-character DC number when known, or search by full first and last name.
3. Match the photo, aliases, identity details, offense information, and state identifier.
4. Read the actual Release Date and release information. Do not substitute an old projected date.
5. Check Supervised Population if probation, parole, community control, or conditional release may follow.
6. If no release appears, use the combined search to look for another current FDC location.

The official FDC Inmate Release Information form is the correct public starting point.

The form covers state prison releases. It does not turn Escambia JAIL View into a Century CI record or cover a person whose only custody was county jail.

Century CI Release Date Fields

An active FDC detail labels its forward-looking value Current Release Date. Florida Statutes § 944.275 calls the gain-time projection a tentative release date and calls the sentence endpoint, after lawful credit, the maximum sentence expiration date. An actual Release Date records the completed event. Each term answers a different question.

A Current Release Date can change because of gain-time awards, forfeiture, restoration, or review. “TO BE SET” means review is pending. For eligible modern offenses, incentive gain time is subject to exclusions and an 85-percent floor. That rule is not a quick formula for predicting a guaranteed day because offense date, credit, mandatory minimums, consecutive terms, later orders, and detainers also matter.

Century CI Records and Contact

The official FDC directory places Century Correctional Institution in Escambia County. The prison contact handles facility operations, while public historical release confirmation normally comes from statewide FDC databases or an FDC records request. A caller should have the DC number and full name ready.

Use FDC Public Records for a specific movement, release, or sentence record not available in the public search. Identify the DC number, Century CI, the approximate date, and the exact record sought. The database itself should be checked first for ordinary status.

Century Correctional Institution Details

Century CI is an FDC institution with Century Work Camp and Pensacola Community Release Center listed as satellites. The same official facility directory describes Pensacola CRC as an 84-bed Community Release Center. That bed figure belongs to the CRC, not to the main Century prison or the work camp.

The directory relationship explains why a location change among these entries can be an internal FDC move. It does not by itself prove prison discharge.

Escambia County Corrections and the Sheriff's Office do not operate Century CI. A state prisoner may once have passed through the local jail after sentencing, but the county booking's closure can represent transfer to FDC. Only the state record proves the later prison release.

After a Century CI Release

Florida Statutes § 944.611 addresses transportation for eligible state releases. Where possible, the destination can be the county of supervision, legal residence, original commitment, or another approved location. Community work-release releasees are excluded from that transportation provision. The law is not a promise that every person leaving Century CI receives transport to an Escambia address.

When FDC supervision follows, search the Supervised Population database and read the office shown on the individual record. Escambia County is within FDC Circuit 1, but the assigned reporting office should come from the person's current detail. Conditional release and parole decisions belong to the Florida Commission on Offender Review, while probation comes from a court.

Release can also end in another agency's custody. The FDC release record may prove the state incarceration ended, but a federal, county, or immigration locator may be needed to show the next destination. Avoid describing a completed FDC sentence as unrestricted community release until the receiving and supervision records agree.

Request Century CI Release Records

A public screen may not supply the movement history, calculation detail, release authorization, or receiving agency. A narrow FDC request should name the person, DC number, institution, and approximate dates. Ask for the exact release or movement document rather than an entire correctional file. This reduces delay and cost.

For a date discrepancy, start with the Bureau of Admission and Release. For a public copy, use the FDC records custodian. A certified judgment or amended sentence comes from the sentencing court, not Century CI. FCOR holds its own parole and conditional-release orders.

Note: A release record proves the end of one custody event, while a receiving or supervision record explains where legal control continued.
